International call for artists: explore the contemporary Nude Art Competition in Clatsop Community College’s 16th annual juried exhibition.
Clatsop Community College invites artists worldwide to participate in the sixteenth edition of Au Naturel: The Nude in the 21st Century, an international Nude Art Competition juried exhibition dedicated to the human figure in contemporary art. The exhibition will be held at the Royal Nebeker Art Gallery in Astoria, Oregon, from January 22 to March 12, 2026. The entry deadline is December 10, 2025.
About the exhibition
Au Naturel focuses on the nude human form as a timeless subject explored through the handmade mark. Open to all artists working in drawing, painting, and printmaking — from representational to abstract — the show celebrates craftsmanship, expression, and the enduring dialogue between tradition and innovation in figurative art.
Eligibility & media
- Deadline: December 10, 2025
- Exhibition dates: January 22 – March 12, 2026
- Entry fee: $45 for 1–3 images; $5 for each additional image (up to 15 total)
- Eligibility: International; artists 18 years or older
- Accepted media: Drawing, painting, and printmaking (limited 3D works considered)
- Not eligible: Photography, giclée prints, or mechanically reproduced works
Awards & recognition
- $1,000 in cash prizes
- Up to $2,000 in purchase awards
- Opportunities for solo or group exhibitions at the Royal Nebeker Gallery
- Visiting Artist Workshop awards may also be granted
All selected works will be exhibited in the Royal Nebeker Art Gallery, and award-winning artists will receive professional recognition and long-term visibility through the gallery’s network and press releases.
Juror
The 2026 exhibition will be juried by Martha Lee, owner and director of the Russo Lee Gallery in Portland, Oregon. With over 35 years of experience in the fine arts community, Lee has curated numerous exhibitions and served on prominent art committees across the Pacific Northwest, fostering meaningful representation for contemporary artists.
Submission requirements
Submissions are accepted via the CaFÉ (CallForEntry.org) platform only. Artists must upload 3–15 images and pay the entry fee through CaFÉ or by check. All work must have been created within the past five years and remain available for the duration of the exhibition.
Artwork guidelines
- 2D work: maximum 6 x 10 ft (183 x 305 cm), max 35 lbs (16 kg)
- 3D work: footprint up to 36 x 36 in (91 x 91 cm), max 50 lbs (23 kg)
- All artwork must be professionally presented and ready to hang (no sawtooth hangers)
- Artwork framed with glass only accepted for hand-delivered works (use plexiglass for shipped art)
- All shipped work must include a prepaid return label and reusable crate
Sales & commissions
The gallery retains a 35% commission on all sales. Artwork may also be listed as NFS (not for sale). All artwork will be insured during the exhibition.
Shipping information
Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and arrangements. Accepted works must be shipped ready to install and packaged securely. The gallery assumes no liability for damage due to improper packing.
